The government had withdrawn only petty cases registered for incidents like raasta roko and effigy burning, and major charges were still on, the TPCC stated.

The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) has criticised the TRS government for selective withdrawal of cases related to the Telangana agitation.
TPCC Vice-President Mohammed Ali Shabbir held a meeting with the students of Osmania University at Gandhi Bhavan on Wednesday to check the real status of the withdrawal of cases registered against them.
During the conversation, the students complained that the government had withdrawn only petty cases which were registered for incidents like raasta roko and effigy burning. But the students and others who had participated in the agitation were still facing the major charges, they stated.
Speaking to media persons later, Shabbir Ali, along with OU students' leaders, said that the students had put their careers at stake while participating in the agitation. They gave preference to Telangana over their lives and careers, and the aspirations of their parents. But almost five months after the formation of Telangana, the students were yet to get relief from the cases registered against them during the agitation.
The announcements of withdrawal of cases being made by the TRS government were confined to paper, and no major cases had been withdrawn so far, he alleged.
OUJAC leader Ramesh Mudiraj said that several students who had participated in the Telangana agitation were facing multiple cases like damage to public property and even attempt to murder. Since these cases were purely related to the statehood agitation, the students had high expectations that they would be withdrawn immediately after the formation of Telangana. However, the government had withdrawn only petty cases while allowing continuation of major cases against the students.
Accusing the TRS government of resorting to blackmail politics, he threatened that the students would launch a fresh agitation if the government failed to withdraw all cases immediately.
OU Students' leader Vijay Kumar and TPCC General Secretary Mallu Ravi were also present. (INN)
