TVU Fraud: S M Krishna Thanked
The American Telugu Association thanked External Affairs Minister S M Krishna for his initiatives to free students caught in the Tri Valley University fraud.
The American Telugu Association on Tuesday expressed its gratitude to External Affairs Minister S M Krishna for his initiatives which had given viable options to the students who had been at the receiving end of the Tri-Valley University sham.
In a statement, the ATA said that it was thankful to Krishna for taking initiative on the Tri-Valley sham and reaching out to U S Secretary Of State Hillary Clinton. The Minister's efforts mounted pressure on the U S government to provide the students with alternative options to continue their education.
The statement said that the ATA was working relentlessly with several legal partners in providing necessary legal guidance and support to the affected students.
The association was in constant contact with the Indian Consulate General offices in various cities, and also approached the Indian Ambassador to put pressure on the U S to resolve the matter.
U S Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) released an update to affected Tri-Valley students last week and provided them with different legal options.
The ATA requested the affected students to contact ICE immediately to find out the legal options available for them.
According to a federal complaint filed in a California court in January, the Tri-Valley University had helped its students to acquire immigration status illegally.
