The Hyderabad police today arrested TPCC chief A Revanth Reddy in order to prevent him from holding a protest on the occasion of the birthday of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
The Jubilee Hills police went to the house of Reddy and took him into preventive custody.
The TPCC president entered into an argument with the police and protested strongly. However, he was immediately taken to the Langar Houz police station. Later he was taken to the Golconda police station to avoid any protest from the Congress activists.
Speaking about the arrest, Reddy said that the police had arrested him for the second consecutive day.
"I have been arrested by the police just to allow KCR to celebrate his birthday. The CM is these days scared of his own shadow," Reddy said.
He also asked the CM if it was right for him to celebrate his birthday amid the suicides of several unemployed youth.
He called upon his party leaders to burn the effigies of the Chief Minister in all mandal headquarters demanding that KCR release government job notifications immediately.
