TPCC president Revanth Reddy slammed the State police for arresting Congress leaders ahead of the visit of the CM K Chandrashekar Rao to Bhadradri Kothagudem district.
TPCC president A Revanth Reddy today slammed the State police for their behaviour and actions during the visit of CM K Chandrashekar Rao to Bhadradri Kothagudem district.
Referring to the arrest of Congress leaders ahead of the visit of the CM, Reddy termed the preventive arrests by the police as undemocratic and dictatorial.
He asked how the police could arrest his party's leaders just because the CM was visiting, and asked the CM if Telangana was under the rule of a monarch.
He demanded that the police immediately release the arrested Congress leaders and activists, and warned that the party would hold protest programs across the State if the police did not comply.
For the uninitiated, the police arrested the leaders of the Congress, the BJP and some tribal organisations ahead of the visit of KCR to Kothagudem district. The police also kept the Kothagudem district president of the BJP Satyanarayana under house arrest.
The leaders of the tribal organisations, too, condemned the arrests.
During his visit, the CM inaugurated the Integrated District Office Complex (that also houses the district Collectorate) in Kothagudem district.
