Senior BJP leader and former MLA K Laxman today lashed out at Telangana CM KCR for keeping him and other BJP leaders under house arrest.
He asked the CM if there was any rule of law and governance in the state.
He made these remarks after the local police kept him, party floor leader in the Assembly T Raja Singh and party floor leader in the legislative council N Ramachander Rao under house arrest.
The action of the police came in the wake of the decision of the party to submit a representation to KCR at Pragathi Bhavan on the issue of the spread of the coronavirus in the state.
The party leaders had sought an appointment with the CM to meet him and submit the representation. However they did not get an appointment, and so the three leaders decided to go to Pragathi Bhavan directly and submit the representation without any appointment.
Keeping this in mind, a huge number of police forces were deployed at Pragathi Bhavan, and the three leaders were kept under house arrests.
Laxman said that it had become very common for the TRS leaders to attack the opposition leaders whenever they raised questions over public problems. He asked if there was any special constitution for Telangana like the revoked Article 370 of the Indian constitution for Jammu & Kashmir.
Laxman alleged that the coronavirus detection tests in Telangana were the lowest in the entire country. He also alleged that there were hardly any facilities for the coronavirus patients at Gandhi Hospital. He said that the people of the state were feeling that it would be better to go to the graveyard than visit the Gandhi Hospital due to its poor conditions.
Laxman also alleged that the authorities of the Gandhi Hospital were not handing over the dead bodies of the Covid-19 victims to their family members properly.
