Raja Singh Arrested For Dharna At Secretariat

The Hyderabad police arrested the BJP MLA and his followers for trying to stage a dharna in front of the Secretariat protesting the building of a new Secretariat.
Hyderabad | 27th June 2019
The Hyderabad police on Thursday arrested BJP MLA Raja Singh and his party activists for trying to stage a dharna in front of the Secretariat protesting the decision of the Telangana government to build a new Secretariat.

Singh was taken to the Musheerabad police station.

Speaking on the occasion, Singh alleged that the State government was spending Rs 600 crore of public money in the name of building new Secretariat and Assembly complexes to avoid a "vaastu dosham". He made it clear that his party was against the move. He also ridiculed Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, who he said had failed to build 2BHK houses for the poor but was very eager to build new Secretariat and Assembly complexes.

He demanded that the State government spend the public money on welfare programs to help the poor.
