Thakre Refutes Reports Of D K Shiva Kumar As Telangana In-Charge
AICC Telangana in-charge Manik Rao Thakre quashed reports that Karnataka Deputy CM D K Shiva Kumar was going to be appointed as the party's Telangana in-charge.
The Congress (AICC) Telangana State in-charge Manik Rao Thakre today quashed reports that Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka D K Shiva Kumar was going to be appointed as the party's Telangana in-charge.
He said that while the party would utilise the service of DK in Telangana, DK would continue to serve Karnataka as its deputy CM, and would only visit Telangana like all Chief Ministers and deputy CMs of Congress-ruled States to campaign for the party during the elections.
Speaking to media persons at Chandanpally of Nalgonda district along with CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka after taking part in the latter's ongoing padayatra, he alleged that CM K Chandrashekar Rao was spending hundreds of crores of public money of Telangana in other States to promote his political party, especially through media advertisements. He also alleged that the CM was also inaugurating his party offices in other States using the money of the Telangana people. He asked the CM who gave him the right to spend so much public money on his own party.
Referring to the comments of PM Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah that several irregularities had taken place in Telangana under KCR's 10-year rule, he asked them why they were then not ordering any inquiry against KCR despite having law enforcement agencies like the CBI and the ED at their disposal, and alleged that it was because the BRS and the BJP were secret friends.
Commenting on the People's March padayatra of CLP leader Vikramarka, Thakre said that the padayatra had immensely helped them to strengthen the party.
Vikramarka said that he was not able to see the drinking water of the Mission Bhagiratha scheme, which had been taken up at a cost of Rs 42,000 crore, in 90% of the villages toured by him in his padayatra. He said that the people in the villages had shown him empty pipes and water tanks. He claimed that all the problems of the people would however end with the defeat of the BRS in the upcoming Assembly elections.
