Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka today came down heavily on former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao for "speaking blatant lies" on the power supply and irrigation waters in the State.
Speaking at a press conference at Constitution Club in New Delhi on Monday, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the BRS president didn't tell the facts in his Suryapet press meet, and had tried to mislead the people.
"With all the BRS leaders joining the Congress, KCR is unable to digest things, and is now in complete frustration. That is why he is trying to mislead the people by telling fabricated stories," Vikramarka said.
Responding to the incident of a power cut during the press conference organised by KCR at Suryapet on Sunday, the Deputy CM said that there was a problem with the mic, but the BRS president lied that it was a power cut.
Claiming that there was no shortage of power in Telangana, Vikramarka asked how if there was indeed a shortage of power, the power consumption had increased in the State.
He also alleged that the execution of the Yadadri Power Plant had been delayed by the previous BRS government by failing to get environmental clearances, and that that had led to a huge increase in the construction cost.
Moreover, the Yadadri power plant was constructed at a distance of 350 km from the coal reserves, and the coal supply to the thermal plant had become a huge expense, the Deputy CM claimed.
"And who was in power during the monsoon season? Why did the previous BRS government not fill water in the reservoirs? The Kaleshwaram project, which the BRS leaders boasted was the most wonderful in the world, has collapsed," Bhatti said.
