An all-party meeting was held in the city today where various parties decided to support the ongoing farmers' protests in Delhi.
At the meeting, the parties decided to hold protest programs in support of the ongoing farmers’ agitation in the national capital, and demand that the Centre withdraw its three controversial farm Acts.
The leaders of the political parties, including the Congress, the TDP, the TJS and various left parties, took part in the meeting, which was held at the Sundarayya Vignana Kendram in Bagh Lingampally, and devised an action plan that would be implemented during the proposed agitations.
Speaking on the occasion, the leaders censured the Centre for rolling out such "exploitative" laws.
"It is unfortunate that the Centre, which is supposed to work for the people of the country, has not done anything substantial to address the problems being faced by the nation's agrarian community. The farmers protesting in Delhi have been compelled to do so by the Centre's apathy towards them - they have been protesting in difficult conditions for the last two months. We demand that the Centre repeal the three Acts as soon as possible. They must find a mutually beneficial way to end the ongoing stalemate soon," the leaders said.
They also criticised Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for suddenly changing his stance on the issue of the implementation of the laws in the state, and going from
rejecting them to
welcoming them.
"KCR, like the Centre, does not care for the farmers. That is why he was able to so easily change his stand on the farmers' protests," they alleged.
The leaders present at the meeting also demanded that the CM convene a special session of the state Assembly and that he pass a resolution in the Assembly against the three Acts immediately.
