A routine Youth Congress session at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad turned violent today as several youth leaders clashed with each other, leaving multiple individuals injured.
A video capturing the chaotic altercation, in which the leaders are seen hurling abusive language and attacking one another, quickly went viral on the social media.
The violent clash erupted after the leaders split into two factions, allegedly due to internal disagreements over party positions. Members from both factions raised slogans against those in the other, and things escalated from a heated argument into a physical confrontation.
Sources indicated that the rift began with Congress leaders from Kothagudem expressing discontent over positions being awarded to individuals who had recently joined the party from other political groups. These long-standing members of the party claimed that they were being overlooked, and that that was leading to frustration and anger among them.
The altercation prompted swift intervention from the police, who arrived at the scene and managed to break up the fight, restoring order to the premises.
The incident has sparked widespread criticism and heated debate within the political community, and there are growing calls for disciplinary action against the leaders involved in the violence.
