Telangana Will Maintain Good Relations With Centre: Revanth Reddy

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today said that his government's policy was to maintain good relations with the Centre, and that it would not create any atmosphere of conflict that would hurt the development of Telangana.

Addressing the meeting after participating in multiple development projects along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Adilabad on Monday, Reddy said that politics should be confined to the election periods, and that the development process should be continued forever.

"An atmosphere of conflict between the Union and the State governments is never good. There should always be an atmosphere of harmony," Reddy said.

The Chief Minister requested the Prime Minister to extend support for the development of Telangana, including for the expansion of the Hyderabad Metro project and the Musi riverfront development project.

"Also, the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has to produce 4,000 MW of power as per the promise of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act, but it is now producing only 1,600 MW due to the negligence of the previous BRS government in Telangana. The new State government is ready to give all the necessary permissions for the remaining works to generate the other 2,400 MW, and the Centre should speed up its process to expedite the enhancement," Reddy added.

He also requested the Prime Minister to extend cooperation for the setting up of a semi-conductor industry zone in Telangana.

He also thanked the PM for responding positively to the proposals of constructing skyways and setting up a textile park in Telangana.

Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy were also present in the program.
