A village in Mustabad mandal of Rajanna Sircilla district announced a lockdown to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus that causes Covid-19.
The residents of Gudem village took the decision following an Omicron infection for one of their residents.
The infected person had come to the village from Dubai recently.
The mother of the victim and his wife have also tested positive for Covid.
Keeping this in mind, the village declared a ten-day lockdown.
The infected person also took part in a program in Narayanpur village of Yellaredddyputa mandal, leading to the health department conducting Covid tests on 53 others who took part in the program.
Meanwhile the state registered 14 Omicron infections on Wednesday alone. The total number of Omicron infections in Telangana has now reached 38.
