President of the Telangana unit of the BJP Bandi Sanjay Kumar today alleged that the state was witnessing "feudal rule" under the current TRS-led government.
Speaking at a meeting of the party’s general secretaries, Kumar said that the state government was "muzzling" the voices of the people who were expressing dissatisfaction and dissent against its "unjust ways".
Commenting on the arrest of journalist Raghu, Kumar alleged that Raghu had been "kidnapped" by the police in broad daylight and asked the leaders of the pink party whether journalists in Telangana would now begin to get arrested for exposing their acts of land encroachment. He also claimed out there was no security for the journalists or the common people of the state.
Further, the firebrand leader accused the government of ruling the state with the objective of attacking the activists who had fought for Telangana's statehood, and censured the rulers of the state for creating a hostile situation for one of their own former colleagues, ex-Health Minister Etala Rajender.
He claimed that those who praised the KCR government would remain in the good books of the state's leaders but those who opposed it would be targeted mercilessly.
The BJP bigwig then asked the KCR regime if it would not purchase paddy from the farmers even after the onset of Mrigasira Karthi.
Commenting on the ongoing Covid-19 vaccination program, he claimed that the state government did not have the capacity to successfully organise and complete the immunisation process of the Centre, and advised it (the state government) to appoint the requisite number of health workers to carry out the program in an efficient manner. He also asked the government to get ready to implement the free vaccination program announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
At the meeting, the saffron party's leaders also discussed various other issues currently troubling the people of Telangana. State party in-charge Tarun Chugh took part in the meeting.
