Telangana BJP state President Bandi Sanjay Kumar today reiterated what he had said earlier about the
BJP's performance in the upcoming Assembly elections in the state, and said that the party would hoist its flag on the historic Golconda fort after coming to power.
Addressing the party workers after hoisting the flag at a BJP executive committee meeting, Kumar urged the party's cadres to work hard towards achieving the aforementioned goal, and said that the people of the state would support them as they knew that the party would work towards development in a righteous fashion.
"The BJP will strive hard to win the 2023 elections. It is sure to win over the people of Telangana with its commitment to development and righteousness. Throughout the lockdown, the party's workers had dedicated themselves to providing a host of essential services to the citizens, and four workers even lost their lives after contracting Covid-19 in the process. On the other hand, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had simply said that taking paracetamol tablets would cure the disease. The people will surely recognise our efforts, and will vote us into power in the next state Assembly elections," he said.
The BJP leader also lashed out at the TRS during his address for "failing" to develop the state in a satisfactory manner, and said, "Though Telangana was created in order to serve the people of the region, no progress has been made in this regard, in the last seven years. The TRS government has even failed to keep its promise of creating three lakh employment opportunities in the state."
He also accused the CM of trying to conduct the ongoing Covid-19 vaccination program in the state as a "party affair" instead of as a national program, and claimed that the banners put up by the state government did not have any pictures or references to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"The CM is trying to market the ongoing Covid-19 immunisation drive as a state government initiative instead of as a program of the Centre. Before this, the TRS government was not even interested in the state's public health facilities. That is why it had not shown any inclination towards implementing the Centre's Aayushman Bharat scheme till recently. If the scheme had been implemented earlier, it would have benefitted many Covid -19 patients greatly. I am sure that the people of Telangana will not continue to support such a regime for much longer," he added.
Bandi Sanjay has been in the limelight recently for his repeated attacks on the TRS regime. Just recently, he made quite the splash when he claimed that he would
"storm" the CM's farmhouse if the latter did not stop "targeting" the BJP. His comments prompted the leaders of the TRS to
censure him quite severely.
