Distribution Of 5.61 Lakh New Ration Cards Starts
Telangana CM Revanth Reddy today launched the distribution of 5.61 new ration cards in the State.

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy launched the distribution of 5.61 new ration cards in the State, at the Thirumalagiri mandal headquarters in the Thungaturthi Assembly constituency of Suryapet district today.
The Chief Minister also launched several development projects and inaugurated works worth Rs 34.20 crore in the constituency.
Speaking at a subsequent public meeting also attended by Minister for Food & Civil Supplies Uttam Kumar Reddy, the CM said that while the government had issued ration cards to 5.6 lakh new beneficiaries, and the names of 26 lakh more had been added to the ration card registry.
He then proceeded to assail the previous BRS government claiming that it had not issued even a single ration card during its decade-long rule, and had failed to provide even a small quantity of rice to those in need.
He added that while ration shops remained closed during the BRS regime, belt shops were allowed to flourish.
The CM also accused the opposition parties of attempting to obstruct the State government's efforts to supply high-quality rice to the poor through the ration shops.
He said that the Congress government on the contrary had only the welfare of the people in mind, and was implementing a raft of welfare schemes and empowering initiatives, the latest being implementing 42% reservation for Backward Classes (BCs) in local body elections.
He claimed that due to its focus on the people, the Congress was guaranteed to govern Telangana until 2034.
