Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today announced that the State government was going to bring in a "One State One Ration" policy soon in Telangana.
Speaking at the Collectors' Conference held at the Secretariat, he said that a person should have a ration card in only one place in Telangana, and that the officials should undertake the required exercise for the implementation of the policy across the State.
On the occasion, the CM also congratulated the Collectors for completing 96% of the caste census survey undertaken by the State government.
He added that the performance of the Collectors was be the performance of the State government itself, and asked them to get even better.
"The Collectors need to improve their performance and move forward. Instructions have already been given to you all to conduct field visits. But some Collectors still want to work sitting in offices," Reddy said.
The CM also took the opportunity to discuss the upcoming implementation of Rythu Bharosa. "In the previous government, the financial assistance to farmers under the Rythu Bandhu scheme was given for non-agricultural lands, too. But the current government will not entertain that practice - no assistance should be given for ineligible lands under Rythu Bharosa. And to ensure that, officials should go to the field level and identify the ineligible lands," he said.
