Government Starts Ration Card Distribution
The Telangana government today launched the distribution of new ration cards in the state. At least 3,60,000 beneficiaries are to get new cards.

The Telangana government today launched the distribution of new white ration cards in the state. The distribution will go on till July 31.
The distribution process was flagged off from the Jayashankar Bhupalapalle district. The public representatives in the rest of the state will soon give out the cards to the beneficiaries in their respective constituencies.
The authorities concerned have made all the arrangements for the smooth distribution of the ration cards. The Telangana civil supplies department has already provided the information for the program to all the districts' officials.
The issuance of the new cards will reportedly benefit nearly 4 lakh people in the state out of which 3,60,000 beneficiaries have already been approved.
Further, 5,200 metric tonnes of rice will also reportedly be given to beneficiaries. The state will spend Rs 2,766 crore on this.
The highest number of eligible beneficiaries, 56,064, are from Hyderabad. Further, 35,488 persons in Rangareddy and 30,055 in Medchal will also receive the new ration cards and the free rice.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has been actively overseeing the preparations for the distribution himself. He has instructed the civil supplies officials to ensure that the beneficiaries receive free rice from August itself
