As per the instructions of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, the state government has taken the decision to give pensions to all those aged 57 and above.
Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao today revealed the state government had decided to extend the pension scheme to those aged 57 and above.
"Our government had been giving pensions to those aged 60 and above. We have now decided to change this earlier age limit to include those aged 57 and above. The move will now benefit a total of 66,2000 people. The new scheme will be implemented soon. All those people aged 57 who are eligible for the pension will begin to receive the sum shortly. Our CM has already instructed the finance and other relevant wings to get the data about the beneficiaries from each district for the implementation of the scheme," the minister said.
Talking about other welfare measures, he added, "Apart from the pensions, weavers and toddy tappers will get insurance facilities soon. Further, works for a super specialty hospital in Warangal will also be started in some time. In my 40-year-long political career, I never had seen any other government so committed to welfare. KCR has always prioritised people's wellbeing. Under his guidance, our government will continue to do so."
