Telangana Secretariat employees, fresh from celebrating the Bonalu festivities, today bid an affectionate and emotional adieu to their Andhra Pradesh counterparts moving to Amaravathi.
At a special meeting arranged at C-Block of the Telangana Secretariat, they vowed to work together with the AP staff for the development of both the Telugu States.
Telangana Secretariat Employees' Association president Narender Rao, his AP counterpart Muralikrishna and others exhorted the staff to work for the speedy development of both the States.
"Unmindful of the bifurcation blues and the issues that cropped up, we must now work for the causes of both the States," they said.
A large number of officials and staff including women turned up for the mega event.
Earlier, Chief Secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma visited the Nalla Pochamma Temple near the C-Block and offered special "puja" as part of Bonalu.
The entire premises of the Secretariat wore a festive look reflecting the Bonalu imagery and themes, and the celebrations went on for a few hours amid much fanfare and gusto.
Female employees of both the Telangana and AP Secretariats celebrated the festival at the temple in a grand manner. Later they all joined a sumptuous lunch.
