Senior IAS officer Ronald Rose today got significant relief from the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT).
Despite his being assigned to Andhra Pradesh following the State's bifurcation, the CAT issued a crucial order permitting him to continue his service in Telangana.
After the division of the Telugu States, the Union Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) originally assigned Rose to Andhra Pradesh. He went to the CAT seeking allotment to Telangana, and got a favourable order. However, the Centre challenged the order, and he was again allotted to Andhra Pradesh after a judicial intervention. He again approached the CAT.
Upon reviewing the arrangements made during the State's bifurcation, the tribunal directed the DoPT to permit Rose to continue his service in Telangana. This decision ensures his continued tenure in the State.
Rose is a high-profile IAS officer, who has held positions including Principal Secretary (Finance) and GHMC Commissioner.
