The State government has decided to inaugurate the newly constructed Secretariat on April 30.
The government has also decided to unveil the huge statue of Dr B R Ambedkar (being built nearby) on the occasion of his birth anniversary on April 14, and the martyrs' stupa (also coming up nearby) on the Telangana Formation Day on June 2.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Friday inspected the final stages of work at the new Secretariat building, the Ambedkar Statue and the Martyrs' Memorial.
The CM visited the Secretariat first, and moved around the entire building, examining all the works, including the elevation, fountains, green lawns and masonry.
He also inspected his own (upcoming) chambers and furniture in the sixth floor, and reportedly gave specific instructions regarding wall and decoration works, and expressed satisfaction at the execution of the works.
The Chief Minister also inspected the Collectors' conference hall, the GAD protocol officials' chambers and the waiting lounges for elected public representatives and VIPs.
Later, he visited the parking area from the southern end, and inspected the road works within and outside the complex.
The Chief Minister then reached the 125-feet Ambedkar statue and checked the auditorium, the water fountain and the landscaping works.
After that he visited the Martyrs' Memorial, where he inspected the auditorium, the laser show facility, the ramps and the parking facilities. Officials briefed him about the status of the works and the upcoming schedule. The CM reportedly expressed satisfaction at the work.
Ministers Vemula Prashanth Reddy and Koppula Eshwar, MLAs Balka Suman and A Jeevan Reddy, Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumari and other senior officials accompanied the Chief Minister.
