With the Covid-19 cases coming down, the Telangana government has decided to organize pulse polio immunization programs in the state on Sunday.
Health department officials said that children below five years of age would be administered polio drops.
They said that polio drop administration centres were being set up in anganwadis, government schools, bus stands, railway stations, airports and more places.
The program would begin at 8 am and end at 8 pm, they said.
Later, the health teams would visit every house and administer two polio drops to any children for two days, they added.
The officials said that some 38 lakh children would be given polio drops in the state as part of the program.
Health Minister T Harish Rao appealed to the people to avail themselves of the opportunity without fail.
