The Hyderabad City Police have emerged as the overall champions at the first Telangana State Police Sports and Games Meet held in the Adilabad district from November 5 to 8.
The games & sports meet saw police personnel from all units of the districts and the Special Police of Telangana compete.
The Hyderabad team's achievement came under the guidance of City Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy. The team was trained and supervised by Siva Prasad, Joint Commissioner of Police (CAR). Siva Prasad had selected skilled players and trained them.
The team stood overall topper by securing 71 points and 91 medals, and was followed by Karimnagar with 55 points. The city cops emerged winners in the football, hockey, kabaddi, gymnastics, Judo (men), boxing (men & women), wrestling (men & women), weight-lifting (men) and handball events. In all, they won 45 gold, 29 silver and 17 bronze medals.
