Bringing to an end the
war of words that raged between Telangana Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders Nagam Janardhan Reddy and Errabelli Dayakar Rao, party President N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday announced that all agitations for the cause of Telangana would be conducted with the TDP flag at the forefront.
Nagam and Errabelli were at loggerheads for 2 days over the issue of the hoisting of the party flag at the
Telangana Nagaras that the former had announced he would conduct in all the 10 Telangana districts from May 21st onwards.
The rest of the MLAs from Telangana were initially equally divided between Errabelli and Nagam over the issue, but the former succeeded in convincing the majority of the party that it is beneficial for the Telangana Nagara to be conducted with the TDP symbol forming the backdrop.
The Erabelli group argued that the party's efforts as such would not be recognised unless TDP flags and banners were put up at the venue. They feared that the TDP would stand to lose at the time of elections if the party's efforts and initiatives were not publicised.
Nagam, on the other hand, stated that the Nagaras are intended to serve as a platform for leaders belonging to various parties to shatter the boundaries of political outfits and fight for the Telangana statehood. He lamented that this objective would not be reached if the Telangana Nagara was made a TDP event.
