» TDP Flag Won't Be Hosted At Telangana Nagara: Nagam
Nagam, Errabelli At Loggerheads
Telangana TDP leaders Nagam Janardhan Reddy and Errabelli Dayakar Rao are at loggerheads over the issue of hoisting the party flag at the Telangana Nagara events.
Telangana Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders Nagam Janardhan Reddy and Errabelli Dayakar Rao are at loggerheads over the issue of hoisting the party flag at the Telangana Nagara events.
Nagam had stated that the Nagara was a call given to all political leaders to look beyond the distinction of political parties and come together to fight for a separate Telangana. He had declared that the flag to fly over the Nagara would be that of Telangana on a white cloth, and that no flag of the TDP would be seen at the event.
However, most of the Telangana TDP Forum have voiced dissent over Nagam's declaration. They pointed out that the members of every party had conducted events for the cause of the Telangana statehood with their party flag forming the back-drop.
The Errabelli group argued that the TDP would lose out at the time of elections as the Nagaras would not be considered a TDP initiative unless the party flag was at the forefront.
This dilemma was debated upon on Monday during a meeting convened by the Telangana MLAs and MPs to chalk out a plan of action.
