Telangana Students Hardly So: Kavuri
Kavuri says those purported to be students in the Osmania Telangana movement hardly seem to be students, and Rayapati expresses annoyance at incessant bandhs
Congress Kavuri Sambasiva Rao remarked that the people purported to be students taking part in the Telangana movement didn’t seem to be students, going by their actions and their language. He said that 90% of the students in the university really want to write exams and not take part in striked.
Telangana leaders, of course, took offence and said that Kavuri wouldn’t be allowed to roam about in Hyderabad. Congress MLA Damodar Reddy reacted to his statement, saying that if Kavuri had any guts he should make his statements on the Osmania University campus.
Guntur Congress MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao said that these dharnas being everyday (some in the name of people dying elsewhere, he said) were painful, especially when it was clear that the Congress High Command wants normalcy to be restored in the state.
