The Telangana Political JAC has appealed to Seemandhra leaders to cancel their
proposed meeting in the city on January 17.
"It is not fair to hold a meeting at a time when a positive decision on Telangana is being awaited," JAC convener M Kodandaram said, adding that the meeting was being held only to stall the separate statehood process.
He discussed the meeting with senior Congress leader K Kesava Rao and Panchayat Raj Minister K Jana Reddy.
The JAC leaders appealed to the state government to ask the Seemandhra leaders to withdraw their proposed meeting.
Kodandaram sought the help of all political parties in this regard.
Meanwhile, Minister S Sailajanath said that holding a meeting was a symbol of the freedom of expression, and that no one could stall it, and appealed to all Congress leaders to attend the meeting.
Another minister, Manikya Vara Prasad, said that he would abide by the decision of the High Command ober the Telangana issue. (INN)
