Minister Warns Hotels Serving Adulterated Food
Minister for Health Damodar Rajanarsimha warned strict action against hotels and restaurants that served adulterated or poor quality food.

Minister for Health Damodar Rajanarsimha today warned that strict action would be initiated against hotels and restaurants that served adulterated or poor quality food.
Speaking at a program organised by hotel associations at the Secretariat, the minister said that high quality food needed be provided to customers, and that hotels and restaurants needed to stop serving stale food.
"Hyderabad biryani has international recognition, and the State capital is being developed as a medical tourism hub. Many people from other States and countries are coming to Hyderabad every day. The managements of hotels and restaurants should not spoil the image of Hyderabad by serving stale food to customers," the minister said.
The minister added that the State government was taking steps to make Hyderabad the food capital of India, and that the owners of the restaurants and hotels should act with social responsibility. He said that the brand image of Hyderabad would grow if restaurant and hotel owners supplied high quality food to customers.
He said that to keep the message fresh, awareness programmes and workshops would be organised once every six months for the restaurant and hotel managements.
The programme was organised in collaboration with the Telangana State Hotels Association, National Restaurants Association, Oil Merchants Association, Indian Dairy Milk Products Association, Telangana Packaged Drinking Water Association, Telangana Roller Flour Millers, and Bakery & Ice Creams Association.
