Following an alert issued by the Intelligence wing, the police, on Thursday, clamped Section 144 in the Secretariat to prevent any untoward incidents.
As per the orders, the assembling of four or more than four persons, meetings, processions, dharnas, rallies and shouting of slogans would not be allowed near the Secretariat premises.
Section 144 will remain in force at the Secretariat till November 18.
Meanwhile, the government has also decided to declare holidays for the Secretariat on September 29 and 30 in the wake of Ganesh immersion and the Telangana March.
According to sources, the Intelligence wing has alerted the Home Ministry suggesting the deployment of additional forces at the Secretariat and the Assembly in the backdrop of fears that Telangana activists might resort to violence and attack properties of Seemandhra leaders. (INN)
