Police Stop Revanth Reddy From Visiting New Secretariat

The Telangana Congress chief was going to lodge a complaint with the HMDA Commissioner claiming corruption in the lease of the ORR project.
Hyderabad | 1st May 2023
The city police today stopped TPCC president Revanth Reddy from going to the newly inaugurated Secretariat to lodge a complaint with the HMDA Commissioner alleging that corruption amounting to Rs 1,000 crore had taken place in the lease of the ORR project.

He was stopped at Telephone Bhavan. This led to tense moments in the area.

Reddy entered into an argument with the police asking them for the reasons behind obstructing his vehicle. The police told him that he did not have an appointment to meet the Commissioner.

Stating that he was an MP of the State, Reddy asked whether an MP required permission to visit the State Secretariat and meet the Commissioner. He warned the police that he would stage a protest on the same road if the police continued to stop him.

The police made tight security arrangements at the Secretariat on receiving information about the visit of the TPCC president. They also closed the visitors' gate.
