TGCSB achieved a major milestone by facilitating the refund of Rs 33.2 crore to 4,893 victims of cyber fraud.
The National Lok Adalat held on December 14, 2024, aimed at amicably settling cases between parties through compounding, witnessed remarkable success in Telangana, addressing a wide range of legal matters and providing financial relief to the victims of cyber fraud.
The police department identified eligible cases for settlement and served notices to both parties. The settlement process began on November 28, 2024, and ended on December 14, 2024. A total of 1,57,088 cases were successfully settled.
The breakup of cases settled is as follows:
Total FIR cases compounded: 20,752
Disaster management cases: 2,131
E-Petty cases: 74,767
Motor Vehicle Act cases: 59,438
The top five units that performed exceptionally well in the disposal of cases during the adalat are:
Hyderabad: 24,546 cases
Cyberabad: 12,797
Rachakonda: 11,083
Suryapet: 10,951
Nizamabad: 10,246
In addition to the above cases, refunds put on hold in cyber crimes were also undertaken. The Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) achieved a major milestone by facilitating the refund of Rs 33.2 crore to 4,893 victims of cyber fraud, surpassing the previous record of Rs 25.2 crore refunded to 5,063 victims in the last National Lok Adalat held in September 2024.

The initiative of refund of money to cyber fraud victims through the Lok Adalat mechanism began on February 20, 2024.
