The State government on Friday launched the much-hyped "CM's Breakfast Scheme" in several government schools across Telangana on Friday.
Minister for Finance T Harish Rao along with Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy formally launched the scheme for children at the Raviryal Zilla Parishad High School in Maheshwaram Assembly constituency of Rangareddy district.
Speaking on the occasion, Rao said that the scheme was a boon for the poor children studying in the government schools, and that there was no such scheme anywhere else in the country.
He said that the scheme would be implemented across the State after the Dasara festival, and that about 20 lakh students would benefit from it.
Minister for IT and Industries K T Rama Rao launched scheme at the Government High School for Girls in West Marredpally, Hyderabad.
On the occasion, Rao himself had breakfast with the students in the dining hall. He directed the officials to ensure that a high quality was maintained, and that the food samples were tested frequently. He also asked the teachers to give their feedback.
The scheme was launched in various other government schools in the headquarters of the various district and in other places by ministers across the State.
