No Commitment To Telangana Issue: TRS
Harish Rao demands that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy move the resolution on Telangana statehood in the House at any cost to prove his party's stand on the issue.
TRS deputy floor leader T Harish Rao on Tuesday came down heavily on the ruling Congress party, the opposition Telugu Desam party, YSRCP and Lok Satta for not allowing leaders to introduce the Telangana resolution in the House.
Talking to reporters at the Assembly media point, he said the although the Assembly speaker Nadendla Manohar sought the opinion of leaders on introducing Telangana resolution in the House; Congress, Telugu Desam, YSRCP and Lok Satta diverted the attention of House to other issues. He alleged that the behaviour of the parties on the floor of the House on Tuesday has shown their lack of commitment towards the Telangana statehood issue.
Harish Rao demanded that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy move the resolution on Telangana statehood in the House at any cost to prove his party's stand on the issue. He demanded to know why the MLAs would not support the Telangana issue if all parties issue a whip with regard to it.
Referring to the registration of a case against the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee chairman Prof M Kodandaram for his alleged comments against the Civil Supplies minister D Sridhar Babu, Harish Rao said that Telangana leaders were not afraid of such cases and that they would continue their agitation vigorously till the achievement of Telangana state formation.
