Information and Public Relations Minister D K Aruna, on Wednesday, turned down the demand for the resignation of elected representatives from the Telangana region.
Talking to reporters after holding a meeting with the elected representatives of Mahabubnagar district, Aruna said that the resignations of MLAs and ministers would bring in only by-elections and not Telangana.
She said that the Congress High Command was already working to find an amicable and favourable solution for the Telangana issue.
She said that therefore, Congress leaders must wait for the High Command's decision on the statehood issue.
Aruna also said that she would lead a delegation of the Congress' elected representatives of Mahbubnagar district to discuss the Telangana issue with the party High Command on October 8. (INN)
