The Telangana State Board Of Intermediate Education officials have reportedly withdrawn their plans to remove some syllabus from social subjects, after criticism from various quarters.
There was confusion and chaos after reports of the proposed removal of the some parts of some lessons by the board.
The proposal was to prune the content in the history, economics and political science subjects.
But freedom fighters, senior citizens, social reformers and the educated classes opposed the board's plan to reduce the syllabus.
Responding to all of that, Board of Intermediate Education secretary Syed Omar Jaleel today said that there were no plans to remove the content in the syllabus.
"We had only planned to prune some of the syllabus. It was only a proposal and no was decision taken," he said. "The lessons about national leaders, social reforms and freedom fighters will not be removed."
