Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today directed officials to ensure that every student who passed Class 10 also completed Intermediate education.
The Chief Minister conducted a review meeting of the Education Department at the ICCC. Speaking on the occasion, he said that Intermediate education was critical to a student's academic journey, and stressed the importance of providing proper guidance during this period.
He said that while a large number of students cleared the 10th grade, the number significantly dropped by the time they completed Intermediate. He told the officials to identify the reasons for this decline and take corrective measures.
Officials informed the Chief Minister that in several other States the education system was structured from Classes 9 to 12 under one umbrella, which had resulted in lower dropout rates.
The CM suggested exploring similar models to improve retention and academic continuity in Telangana.
