The Telangana High Court on Monday cleared the way for recruitments for the pending Group-II services posts in the State.
The court has given the go-ahead to the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) to fill 1,032 Group-II posts.
The written examinations for the posts were held in November 2016. Two years back cases were filed against the test and the results, and a single judge bench of the HC had delivered an order, which was then challenged by a bunch of writ petitions, that led to a division bench re-looking at the case and delivering today's order.
The division bench asked the TSPSC to consider the candidatures of 343 candidates who had bubbled wrongly or used whiteners in the written test, in the final selections - something the single bench had ruled against.
It also asked the commission to check conduct certificate verifications for all the 343 candidates, and said that the commission could continue the selection process by following the recommendations of its technical committee formed for the purpose.
The orders of the HC have provided the much needed relief to the TSPSC as it has faced a lot of criticism on the recruitments for the posts. Some five lakh aspirants had appeared for the exams, and the commission had selected 3,147 candidates for the certificate verification process. It has already completed the verification process.
