Coming down heavily on Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan for levelling remarks on the Osmania General Hospital (OGH), Minister for Health T Harish Rao alleged that the Governor was speaking like a spokesperson of Bharathiya Janatha Party (BJP).
Responding to her tweet pointing out the dilapidated condition of the existing OGH and the State government's promise of constructing new buildings for the hospital, the Health Minister said that it was very unfortunate that she was taking every opportunity to criticise the State government, but was ignoring all the positive developments in the State.
"Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao took a decision to construct a new building for the OGH in 2015. However, some people approached the court against the government's decision and obstructed the construction. The State government is ready to construct new buildings for the hospital, but the matter is now pending in court," Rao said.
He claimed that Telangana had been witnessing drastic changes in the health sector since 2014, and had received many awards from the union government for providing the best medical services to the people, and asked the Governor why she responded only to negative news items, and why she did not respond to the positive developments in the health sector in the State.
"The Kanti Velugu program has been receiving tremendous response among the people but the Governor hasn't responded. Similarly, Telangana has topped the country in reducing the child and mother mortality, as acknowledged by the NITI Ayog, but she has never appreciated the efforts of the State government," Rao claimed.
He said that the Governor's comments then appeared like political remarks, and that she was speaking like a spokesperson of the BJP.
