Telangana Finance Minister T Harish Rao today instructed the officials concerned to submit a detailed report on the vacancies in the various government departments of the state.
He held a meeting with the officials and took stock of the jobs positions currently vacant in the government departments.
After holding a similar meeting on Saturday, the minister held today's meeting to review the details of the vacancies with the officials.
During the meeting, Rao told them to collate the details of the vacancies in each department and to then submit a report to him. He will then submit the report to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Monday, July 12.
The government has asked its officials to take up a recruitment drive in the state to fill 50,000 vacant posts. It is in this regard that the CM has directed the finance wing to fill these posts after first collecting the details of the existing vacancies.
Once the finance department officials submit the aforementioned report to the government on Monday, KCR will hold a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, July 13, and will officially give clearance for the recruitment process for the posts.
Though the TRS regime is taking steps to fill 50,000 vacant posts, it continues to draw flak from the Opposition for its "limited efforts" to battle the problem of rising unemployment in the state.
Recently, state BJP Vice President N V S S Prabhakar had said that the decision of the state government to fill the 50,000 vacant job posts was
an attempted "eyewash", aimed at mollifying the public.
Prabhakar had claimed that the government needed to release a notification for filling 2 lakh posts and not just 50,000.
