Telangana BJP Vice President N V S S Prabhakar today termed the decision of the state government to fill 50,000 vacant government job posts an "eyewash", aimed at mollifying the public.
Speaking to the media on the issue, Prabhakar said that the state government needed to release a notification for filling up 2 lakh posts and not just 50,000 posts.
He then spoke about the ongoing water row and alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had not taken any steps for bringing "even a drop of additional water" to the state during the last seven years of his rule.
"Telangana, formed after the sacrifices made by thousands, still does not have any funds, adequate water, or better employment opportunities even seven years after its creation. The misrule of the TRS proves that the BJP is the only alternative to the ruling party. The Congress will not be an effective alternative," the leader asserted.
Taking a potshot at Y S Sharmila's new political party, the YSR Telangana Party, the BJP bigwig alleged that she had formed her party only to be able to take care of her lands in Telangana. He also mocked both Sharmila and her mother Vijayamma for having shifted their base to Hyderabad after being "scared off by Y S Bharati", the wife of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
He also addressed the issue of the recent
dismissal of nurses in the state and demanded that the TRS government rehire all the fired nurses immediately.
