Telangana Minister for Finance T Harish Rao today admitted that the TSPSC paper leak was a grave mistake. He however said that the BRS government had never tried to cover up its failure.
Addressing a Meet The Press program organised by the Telangana State Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ) at the Suravaram Prathapa Reddy Auditorium, Basheer Bagh, the minister said that the leak was a very unfortunate incident, and that the BRS government, responding promptly to the incident, had ordered an inquiry and arrested the accused.
He accused the Opposition parties of politicising the leak for selfish reasons and of misleading the people in this regard.
Rao also said that in future if the BRS came to power the job calendar would be announced in advance, and that the vacancies would be filled in the same year.
The minister added that the BRS government had worked to give jobs to the local youth, and that as part of this endeavour, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had brought in an amendment to give 95% of the jobs to the local youth, to the Presidential Order.
"About 1.3 lakh jobs were filled in the first term. The Chief Minister has ordered recruitment for 80,000 more jobs in this ongoing tenure. On the contrary, the union government took one year for issuing the Presidential Orders for its own recruitment, and another two years were lost due to the coronavirus pandemic. Despite that, due to the policies adopted by the State government, lakhs of jobs have been created in the private sector," Rao said.
