Ex-Gratia For Rain-Affected Victims Revised

The Telangana government has approved enhanced ex-gratia payments for families affected by the recent heavy rains and floods.
Hyderabad | 2nd September 2025
The Telangana government has approved enhanced ex-gratia payments for families affected by the recent heavy rains and floods.

The revised ex-gratia rates are:

- Human deaths: Rs 5 lakh (increased from Rs 4 lakh)
- Large animal (cattle) deaths: Rs 50,000 (previously Rs 37,500)
- Small animal (sheep/goat) deaths: Rs 5,000 (up from Rs 4,000)

An additional Rs 1.3 crore has been sanctioned for compensation across the following flood-affected districts: Kamareddy, Medak, Asifabad, Suryapet, Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri, Nizamabad, Adilabad, Sangareddy, Siddipet, Mulugu, Mahabubnagar, Jagtial, Nirmal and Sircilla.

District Collectors have been instructed to deposit the payments directly into the beneficiaries' bank accounts via ECS and to submit utilization certificates validated by State audit authorities upon completion.

Beyond ex-gratia payments coordinated as per State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) norms, the Chief Minister has also sanctioned Rs 10 crore for flood relief efforts. These funds will support urgent restoration of roads, water tanks, electricity sub-stations, and other critical infrastructure, especially in severely impacted areas.

A high-level meeting emphasised the need for swift action, urging officials to ensure transparent documentation and move relief packages promptly.

Detailed damage assessments and reports - covering both 2025 losses and those from the previous year - are to be shared with the Union government for further support.
