The Telangana government on Saturday issued a GO constituting the Telangana State Council for Higher Education (TSCHE).
The GO has been issued under Section 101 of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014.
In its order, the Telangana government contended that as per the Reorganisation Act, it was empowered to make adaptions and modifications of any law made in united Andhra Pradesh. Therefore, the GO had been issued adapting the Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE) Act, 1988.
As per the order issued by the Department of Higher Education, the Vice-Channellors of Osmania University, Kakatiya University, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Telangana University, Mahatma Gandhi University, Palamuru University and Satavahana University have been appointed as the members of the TSCHE.
