Telangana Governor E S L Narasimhan and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today extended greetings to the Muslims on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr (Ramzan) on Thursday.
The Governor said, "The teachings of the Holy Quran have shaped the lives of the society over the ages since the advent of the Prophet. The holy Ramzan is a reminder to us of the purpose of life as ordained by God and that only through rigorous self-discipline it is possible to realize the life eternal. On this Ramzan day, let us redeem our pledge to respect the dignity of man, the sanctity of life and the solemnity of all faiths."
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, too, conveyed his "Eid mubarak" to all Muslims and all citizens of Telangana State.
"Eid-ul-Fitr is a celebration of humanity's quest for proximity with God. Through fasting and prayers, we have purified our body and souls and gained control of the mind over worldly pleasures. The Government of Telangana joins all the Muslims in celebrating the joyous Eid-ul-Fitr," he said, and requested to people to pray for a prosperous and "bangaru" Telangana.
