Telangana Panchayat Raj Minister Jupally Krishna Rao today directed officials of the village panchayats to maintain online records of their functioning, for more transparency.
Along with Police Commissioner Anitha Ramachandran, the Minister made a surprise visit to a village panchayat in Qutbullapur mandal and held a meeting with its Sarpanch, ward members and other officials, and expressed his dissatisfaction at the "abysmal" state of record keeping. He asked them to digitize all their records and upload them online on the government's portal.
Rao also urged them to make amendments to the current taxing methods, demolish illegally built structures and provide basic amenities to the rural people. He asked them to ensure that all these works are recorded online.
