Minister for Panchayat Raj Errabelli Dayakar Rao has denied speculations that the State government had summoned the striking Junior Panchayat Secretaries (JPSs) for discussions, and that it was trying to convince them to call off the strike.
Rao said that the State government didn't have any intention to call the JPSs for discussions as they were on strike in violation of their service rules.
"The striking Junior Panchayat Secretaries have not been invited for discussions either by the State government or the department concerned. The speculations that the State government is holding discussions with them are completely baseless," Rao said.
The minister once again appealed to the JPSs to call off their ongoing strike and rejoin duties immediately.
He claimed that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was positively inclined towards the JPSs and was ready to take up their issues, and urged the employees not to bring a bad name to the government by continuing the strike.
The JPSs are on strike demanding regularisation as their probation period was over.
