Samaikyandhra JAC Announces Hunger Strike From July 20

While the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee is gearing up to intensify its agitation, the leaders and organisations in favour of united Andhra Pradesh too have decided to expand their protest across the state.

The Samaikhya Andhra Students' Joint Action Committee has announced that it would launch an indefinite hunger strike in Hyderabad from July 20, in order to oppose any move by the centre to divide the state. The JAC is also planning to organise a public meeting in Hyderabad next month.

However, these announcements are likely to trigger tension with the TPJAC and other pro-Telangana parties opposing such protests in the state capital.

Although the organisers are yet to approach the local police to seek permission, the protest plans have already pushed the authorities to their feet. (INN)
