ED Seeks Details On Sheep Distribution Scheme
The ED has asked the MD of the Telangana State Sheep and Goat Development Federation for details on the alleged corruption in the sheep distribution scheme.
The Enforcement Directorate has written a letter to the Managing Director of the Telangana State Sheep and Goat Development Cooperative Federation Ltd (TSSGDCFL) seeking details on the alleged corruption and misappropriation of funds in the sheep distribution scheme.
Magimai Arockiaraj, Deputy Director of the Hyderabad Zonal office, Enforcement Directorate, sought the details under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002, regarding the Sheep Rearing Development Scheme (SRDC) which was implemented during the previous BRS government.
In the letter, the ED said that it was conducting an investigation under the PMLA regarding the alleged fraud in the implementation of the SRDC, and asked the TSSGDCFL to provide the district-wise details of all beneficiaries of the scheme.
The ED asked the district-wise details of all beneficiaries, including the name of the beneficiary, address, contact numbers, bank account number, name of the bank/branch etc.
It also asked for the district-wise details of the sellers from whom the sheep were purchased, and of the funds received from the beneficiaries.
The ED mentioned in the letter that the matter be treated as most urgent.
