Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has been named in the chargesheet of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) related to the National Herald money laundering case.
The agency has alleged that Reddy, while serving as the State Congress chief, solicited funds for Young Indian Pvt Ltd in exchange for promises of political patronage and positions.
Reacting to the development, BRS working president K T Rama Rao launched a scathing attack on the Chief Minister, accusing him of turning Telangana into an ATM for the Congress.
KTR said that Central agencies had confirmed what the BRS had been warning about for months - that Telangana's governance was compromised by corruption and commission-based deals.
"The ED has officially exposed Telangana's bagman. Revanth Reddy has been caught influencing donors with political promises. He built a corrupt empire even before taking office, and since becoming CM, he has expanded it into a multi-thousand crore scam," said KTR.
He said that according to reports, Revanth Reddy allegedly lured donors into giving money to Young Indian by offering party posts and political favours - exposing a donation-for-nomination racket under Reddy's leadership.
The BRS leader also alleged that Reddy was resorting to daily attention-diversion dramas to escape accountability.
KTR questioned the BJP-led Union government's silence on the matter. "Will the Centre act now that Revanth Reddy's name is in the chargesheet, or will it continue to protect him as they did in previous scams? The Amrit scam, the RR tax scam, the civil supplies scam - are they all going to be brushed under the carpet?" he asked, and added that the ED's chargesheet, filed before a Delhi court, had raised serious questions about the internal functioning of the Congress.
He warned the Congress that the people of Telangana would not remain silent spectators. "The Congress government is looting crores and playing with the futures of poor people. They tried to burn down a progressive State with their greed. But truth always wins in the end," he said.
KTR's allegations aside, the Congress is also facing a storm within its own ranks. Reportedly, party MLA Anirudh Reddy has publicly stated that not a single file moved without a 30% commission. Cabinet minister Konda Surekha has admitted to severe procedural lapses. Adding to the chaos, CM Revanth Reddy's father-in-law, Padma Reddy, recently denied any corruption in the Kaleshwaram project - contradicting Revanth Reddy's own narrative.
The BRS leader too echoed similar thoughts: "The CM's chair is shaking. The fear of collapse haunts Revanth Reddy every day."
