Deputy Surveyor Caught In ACB Net While Taking Bribe
Merugu Rathnam, Deputy Surveyor of Dammannapet mandal, Bhadradri-Kothagudem district, was caught by the ACB accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000.

This afternoon, Merugu Rathnam, Deputy Surveyor of Dammannapet mandal, Bhadradri-Kothagudem district, was caught by the ACB Khammam unit at the Gandhi Nagar Main Road accepting a bribe.
He was apprehended while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 from the complainant for conducting a land survey for the complainant's sister, Yerneni Mamathes, in Dammannapet revenue village and for submitting an official survey report.
A chemical test conducted on both hands and the inner flap of the left front pocket of Rathnam's trousers yielded positive results, and the tainted bribe amount of Rs 50,000 was recovered from his possession.
Rathnam has been arrested and will be produced before the Special Court for SPE & ACB Cases cum III Additional District & Sessions Judge at Warangal.
The details of the complainant were being withheld for security reasons, the ACB officers said.
